Nikki Eden was born in Cedar Rapids, IA, but now resides in Garner, IA with her husband, their puppy Jack, and a little one on the way.

My creativity has always been something that has set me apart. The ability to express oneself through music, art, and the way you live your everyday life is an unexplainable luxury that is hard to put into words. I love to find the beauty in everyday things and always look for inspiration wherever I am. Art is something I kept to myself and helped me through many things life so graciously throws at us daily. Creating gives me a sense of calmness and stillness that I crave when life becomes too loud.

With every stroke of paint I try to convey this calmness through my work. Water + nature are natural influences of mine and using both texture and tone to express this is what I love. We live close to a large lake and often go for nightly walks in the summer time. The feeling of walking out on the dock to watch the waves, and the feeling of being close to the water is something I pour into my work. My work is primarily monochromatic to give a seamless feel that will compliment different spaces. I gravitate towards cooler + neutral tones with strokes of texture to add movement that I hope gives off the calmness and stillness I so desperately desire everyday.
